Cotton

Cotton is a soft, fluty staple fiber that is commonly processed into consumer products, for example, cotton ball or cotton pad. In everyday life, I have a close interaction/contact with this material for cosmetic purpose. As an understanding of Jean Francois Lyotard's interpretation of the two words, "Materials" and "Immaterial", cotton resonated with me the most.

Under a 3D scanner, which projects a 3D material onto a 2D plane, the texture of the cotton was well examined. Through the scope of high-resolution image projection, one would be able to observe something about cotton's texture and materiality that would not have otherwise. Through the different formation/composition of cotton balls and cotton pads, the effect was interesting.
